INTRODUCTION
The project aims to transform The Bran Foundation, located at 421 East 6th Street, New York, into a multifunctional library. The building has a rich historical background.
Inspiration comes from "Einstein's Dream," in which the chapter of April 19 depicts a magical world. In this world, every time people make a decision, the world will differentiate into three different parallel worlds. The story tells the choice of a boy in love and the three results corresponding to it.
Life is made up of countless choices and decisions. The concept of this project is to visualize the "decision," hoping that visitors will have more different experiences and understanding of the "decision" in the process of using the space.
DECISION
CANNOT BE CHANGE
When people make important decisions, there are two essential feelings:
1. They hesitate and feel pressure when making important decisions;
2. People know other results after making a decision, but they can no longer change the decision. Through this project, I hope people can have a new experience of "decision." In the private cylindrical reading space, the entrance and exit can be changed through sliding doors, which means that there are many kinds of circulation according to the different behaviors of people in the space. Through the glass, people can see what other spaces are like after choosing, but because the entrance is closed due to the actions of others, visitors may need to detour a long way to get to this space. At the top level, people have the opportunity to observe how other people make decisions. By doing so, they may reflect on the choices they just made, or even their own lives.

The second floor is dominated by the library, and the relatively small private space can be used as a reading room.
